Ben Slocum


Ben brings over 35 years of healthcare experience to Bluebook, where he has served as President since joining in August 2018. Ben’s expertise in the industry includes executive leadership roles in consumer, employer and provider settings as well as a proven track record of innovation with the patient in mind.

Prior to Bluebook, Ben was CEO of WebMD Health Services, where he successfully led the integrated health and wellness management platforms and solutions. Before that, Ben was President of Vantage Cancer Care Network, the population health management division of Vantage Oncology.

Ben served as CEO of Lovelace Health Plan, a $1.1B commercial, Medicare and Medicaid health plan where he positioned the plan as the core hub of an Accountable Care Organization. The business was later sold to Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico. As CEO of UnitedHealthcare of Northern California, he revitalized the organization after its acquisition of PacifiCare.

He has served on the board of directors for The New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange (Governor appointed), The Association of Commerce and Industry of New Mexico, LCF Research Institute, The American Association of Preferred Provider Organizations, Contra Costa County Council, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America.

Ben received his business education from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his certification as a Health Consultant from Purdue University.
